MindLabs is a partnership in which three knowledge institutions, authorities and a growing number of business partners, social institutions and startups participate.
Together, MindLabs' partners strengthen the development of technologies that interact with human behaviour; in other words, human-centred AI. Partners want to help solve societal challenges using the unique possibilities of these technologies.
We accelerate the development of people and society by connecting knowledge and the application of interactive technology with entrepreneurship. Interaction between people and technology is central to this.
The MindLabs association was founded on 1 April 2019 by Fontys University of Applied Sciences, ROC Tilburg, Tilburg University, Province of Noord-Brabant, Municipality of Tilburg and the Persgroep (currently DPG Media).
In the years preceding that, the plan initially focused on an innovative media cluster in Tilburg's Spoorzone. Fontys School of Journalism wanted to innovate together with media companies, right amongst the city and society. The connection with the university and its unique knowledge of interactive technologies and human behaviour broadened the plan and gave MindLabs its subtitle: "Where Minds, Media & Technologies meet".
