The Media Innovation Campus was launched in 2019 by Mediahuis Noord, NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences and ROC Friesland College. The three parties concluded a cooperation agreement and formed a collective with twenty partners in the creative sector. They contribute to the stimulation of employment in that sector, for ambitious young professionals to get and stay employed in the region, and for the creative educations to increase the quality of education through impulses from the business community. As there are many similarities with the purpose and set-up of MindLabs, they are happy to come and learn from us. 

Besides being a physical location in the heart of the city, MICA is above all a growing network of companies, experienced professionals, young talents and anyone who would like to become a professional in the creative industry. MICA's working method - like that of MindLabs - is based on experimentation.
