Every day we have countless experiences. To distinguish experiences we want to remember and those we don't, we are guided by emotions. We are even willing to pay for certain experiences and how they make us feel. This makes emotions an important measure for the value of for example leisure, tourism, hospitality and entertainment.
So, uderstanding and measuring emotions is important to create the best possible experience. But how do you do this? During the thirteenth online lunch meeting on December 5, Prof. Dr. Marcel Bastiaansen shares how this topic is being studied in the BUas Experience Lab, and what we can learn from it.
Speaker
Prof. dr. Marcel Bastiaansen is a professor Leisure & Tourism Experience at BUas and Tilburg University, as well as director and co-founder of the BUas Experience Lab. He is specialized in Experimental Psychology (MSc) and Cognitive Neuroscience (PhD). Marcel uses advanced technologies to measure emotions and engagement. With techniques such as EEG, heart rate monitoring and skin conductance he studies how we live experiences, both in lab environments as well as in the field, during rollercoaster rides or a museum visit for instance.
